The Kohjinsha SR8KPO6S features a DVD writer, which can be disabled to save power. Measuring 9.2 inch x 7 inch x 1.3 inch and weighing 2.4lbs, the tablet PC features a 7 inch touchscreen display with 1024 x 600 resolution, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, a 1.3MP camera, and a 60GB hard drive, WiFi G, and Bluetooth. Hewlett-Packard will release the highly anticipated HP 2133 Mini-Note PC. Priced at around $500, this UMPC features VIA C7-M ULV processor (1GHz to 1.6GHz), Chrome 9 integrated graphics, and supports up to 2GB of DDR2 667MHz main memory. This 8.9 inch ultra portable laptop also provides up to 160GB of hard drive storage, an optional 64GB solid-state drive or 4GB Flash drive, an optional web camera, built-in stereo speakers and microphones, the Broadcom 802.11a/b/g or b/g wireless module, optional Bluetooth 2.0, a Gigabit Ethernet connection, two USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, Secure Digital (SD) slot, and a VGA output. Its battery provides up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of battery life with the standard 3-cell battery, and 4 hours and 11 minutes with the 6-cell extended life battery. The Mini-Note is powered by Windows Vista Business, Vista Home Basic, FreeDOS, or SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10. [Laptoping]

Sharp will be releasing the new PC-FW50X Mebius which is going for about ¥150,000 or $1,467 featuring a 15.4-inch WXGA (1,280 x 800) panel, 2GHz Mobile Sempron 3600+ processor, 2GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, PCMCIA slot, four USB 2.0 ports and a 4-pin FireWire connector, wifi, Ethernet, a multicard reader, VGA output and a rechargeable Li-ion. Van Der Led has released an interesting laptop called the Jisus laptop. It comes with an 800 x 480, 8.9-inch LCD display, a 1GHz Loongson CPU , 512MB of RAM, 4GB of flash storage, 802.11b/g, stereo speakers, and is Ubuntu pre-installed. Toshiba has announced that their 13.3-inch U400, 14.1-inch M300, 15.4-inch A300 (pictured) and 17-inch P300 have been redesigned with a fusion finish, feather-touch multimedia keys, white LED accents and built-in Dolby Sound Room technology along with sleep-and-charge USB ports allowing users to charge up their portable gadgetry with USB even if the laptop is powered on / off or in Sleep mode. Sounds like a good redesign. There’s no word on when these and how much these redesigned satellite laptops are, but I can imagine a bit on the pricey side. [BusinessWire]
