Jaffer Hasnain of NotebookReview reviews the Gateway M285 notebook. Gateway’s M285 runs on an Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16-GHz) processor and features 1GB of DDR2 memory, 80GB HDD, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 graphics, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 14-inch WXGA display. Here’s what he had to say:

The performance is top notch, and the quality is also surprisingly nice. Overall, I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone who is looking for a replacement for a desktop, while still keeping all the functionality of a laptop, as well as having the added functionality of a tablet for whatever they may need it for.

PCMag has just reviewed the light weight Averatec AV2260-EK1 . For those who don’t know about this laptop, it features an AMD Turion 64 MT-32 CPU, 1GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, a DVD+/-RW drive, 802.11 a/g/ WLAN, and a 12.1-inch widescreen display. Here’s what they thought about the Averatec AV2260-EK1:

With the exception of the 1GB of system memory, the rest of the innards are plain-Jane technology. The AMD Turion 64 MT-32 (1.8 GHz) is a competent processor, but not as fast as the new dual-core AMD processors available.

Twave presents their “Prime Note Altair CS” which features an Intel Celeron M 350 (1.3-GHz), 256MB of memory, 40GB HDD, DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive, and a 14.1-inch XGA display.
