Google Cr-48 Chrome OS Notebook

by Johan on December 7, 2010

The Google Cr-48 is the world’s first notebook based on Chrome operating system. Weighing at just 3.8-pound, this ultra-portable notebook comes jam packed with a 12-inch display, a full-size keyboard without function keys, an over-sized trackpad, a Flash memory-based storage, Wi-Fi and 3G connections, a webcam, a USB port and a VGA output. Google claims that the Cr-48 boots in about 10 seconds and resumes from sleep mode instantly. Its battery provides a battery life of “over eight hours of active usage and a week of standby time”. The Google Cr-48 is not a mass market product. Instead, Google will distribute the notebook through the Chrome OS Pilot Program for testing purposes. [Laptoping]
