Acer’s 9140 17-inch notebook features a 1440 x 900 WXGA display, an Intel Core Duo T2300 processory, 1GB of DDR2 memory, 120GB HDD, and NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 graphics. On the outside there are 4 USB 2.0 ports, 802.11 a/b/g WLAN, a built-in webcam, and a Type II PC Card slot. No word on price or availability. Via BIOS.

Acer's New TravelMate 3020

The New Acer TravelMate 3020 is a white series of ultra-portable mobile notebook which is powered by Intel Centrino Mobile Technology Duo. The notebook features full wireless connectivity with dual-band tri-mode IEEE 802.11a/b/g, WLAN, LAN, and Bluetooth 2.0 compatible. TravelMate 3020 has the Acer OrbiCam (an LCD panel-mounted 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera), and supports a 12.1 inch widescreen LCD panel with a pixel resolution of 1280×800, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, and a battery life of 5.5 hours. It comes preloaded with Windows XP Professional operating system and have some of applications like Acer’s Empowering Technology (eDataSecurity, eLock, ePerformance, eRecovery, eSettings, eNet, ePower and ePresentation), Acer GridVista, Adobe Reader, Cyberlink Power DVD, NTI CD-Maker and Norton AntiVirus. Check out the new Acer Aspire 9800. With a fairly large 20.1″ 1680×1050 LCD screen, this laptop will sure make a good multimedia station. Using Core Duo processor this laptop also features a dual hard drives that can reach up to 240GB. For gamers the laptops stores NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 256MB graphics card. Other key things are its integrated TV tuner, VoIP Bluetooth phone, and others. Although it is currently available in Europe, we will have to wait to get our hands on this laptop. Acer Notebooks to use HD-DVD
Acer just announced that their notebook computers will be equipped with HD-DVD drives. This move contrasts Sony’s move to use Blu-ray drives on their new units. Toshiba also announced that their units will be equipped with HD-DVD. Info via NewLaunches.
