Asus will release the new UL20A notebook for the US market. The slim and lightweight laptop comes jam packed with a 12.1-inch 1,366 x 768 resolution display, an Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz processor, a 2GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. If you buy this laptop before October 22nd, 2009, you will get a free upgrade to Windows 7 OS. The Asus UL20A is priced at $599. [Asus]
The MagicJack is a USB dongle that you can plug into any computer to enable free or low cost VoIP calls using a standard telephone handset. One member of the MagicJack support forums has integrated a MagicJack dongle into his Asus 1000HE. He took apart the device’s plastic shell, attached its components to the Asus Eee PC 1000HE motherboard via a USB connection, and drilled a hole in the case to plug in a phone. A creative modder has successfully modified his Asus Eee PC 701, making it a “Kitchen PC”. He added the netbook with a 2GB of RAM, a touch screen display, a TV receiver and speaker. Watch the video after the jump to get more details. More
Here are the latest additions to Asus’ N-Series notebook line-up, the N61 and N71. These new multimedia notebooks are equipped with a choice of either an Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad processor, an optional 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 240M or GT 220M graphics card, up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray DVD Combo and Windows 7 OS. The only difference between these two notebooks is that the N61 only comes with a 16-inch HD LED display with 1366 x 768 resolution, while, the N71 offers a bigger 17.3-inch HD LED display with 1366 x 768 resolution. The guys over at Liliputing has posted an unboxing video of the recently released Asus Eee PC 1101HA netbook. In case you’ve forgotten, this mini laptop is equipped with an Intel Atom Z520 processor, an 11.6-inch widescreen display with 1366 x 768 resolution, an Intel GMA500 graphics card, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a 1.3MPl webcam, a media card reader, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3 USB ports, Windows XP Home OS and a 6-cell battery. Currently available in black, white, blue and pink color options, Asus will soon add a new color ‘Silver’ to its Eee PC 1005HA netbook series. This new model is due out in Japan starting next month. As for now, it’s available for preview from Japanese retailer Kakaku for 47,700 Yen (about $509). [Liliputing]
