MSI today announced the price tag of its new Wind ultra portable laptop. This Eee PC competitor is priced at $399. FYI, the UMPC runs on Novell SUSE Linux operating system and features 512MB RAM, a 80GB hard drive. Meanwhile, the 1GB RAM and Windows XP version retails for $549. MSI will be releasing a new laptop calleWind comes with an XP system, LED-backlit, 8.9- and 10-inch 1,024 x 600 displays, 80GB, 2.5-inch hard disk, as well as a superior keyboard and battery life. No word on the price or availability, but it is said to perhaps release in June for a range of $470-$1,099. [DigiTimes]

MSI will be releasing a new 13.3-inch laptop called the VR340. It features a dual-core Intel CPU, WXGA panel, up to 3GB of DDR2 RAM, dual-layer DVD burner, a trio of USB ports, 5-in-1 multicard reader and a six-cell battery. No word on the price, but chances are it wont be a biggie like their other laptops. [FarEast]

MSI has upgraded their GX-6000 laptop and is now called the GX-6000 enhanced. It comes with new 45nm processing technology, a RAM of up to 3GB, and the hard drive is 320GB, a Turbo button on the keyboard to increase the CPU speed by up to 20 percent, a Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 3D chipset, 5.1 channel audio output, SPDIF and HDMI connections, a 15.4″ WXGA+ display, integrated bluetooth and 1.3 megapixel camera. MSI has showcased the 15.4-inch GX620 that comes in a wood, leather or carbon fiber finish. Other than that, we don’t know when, how much, or any other detailed specs for this wooden laptop. Stay tuned for more updates. [Engadget]
