The Sony VAIO P netbook is claimed to be the world’s lightest 8-inch netbook. Weighing at just 1.4 pounds, this Vista-based netbook features unbelievable 1,600 x 768 resolution LED-backlit XBRITE-ECO LCD display, 802.11n WiFi, 3G WWAN, Bluetooth, webcam, a GPS module and Sony’s Xross Media Bar interface. Its battery offers four hours of battery life or eight hours with the optional high-capacity cell. Available in garnet red, emerald green, onyx black, crystal white and classic black hues, the Sony VAIO P will be available in February for $900 upwards. [Engadget] More

A lot of mysterious gadgets and laptops reveal by the end of this year and this is the new Sony Vaio’s netbook that will be called “Vaio Pocket”. The pocket comes with a 1.33-GHz Intel processor (probably an atom), 1600 x 768 8-inch LED display, 60GB HDD or 128GB SSD, and Windows Vista. No words on pricing yet. [Techeblog]
