Toshiba is launching the Portege M-800 laptop. It features a white pearl finish with silver accents, white LEDs, a 2GHz Core 2 Duo T5750, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a WXGA (1,280 x 800) panel, Intel’s GMA X3100 graphics set, a built-in DVD burner, three USB 2.0 ports, FireWire / VGA / headphone sockets, 802.11a/g/n wifi, 56k modem, gigabit ethernet, bluetooth and Vista Home Premium. No word on price, but it should make its way to Europe in Quarter 3. [Tech Digest]

Toshiba has upgraded both their Qosimo and Dynabook models. The Qosmio F40 going for about €1352, gets rid of its HD DVD drive for a DVD multi option and features a Core 2 Duo T8100 CPU atop a GN965 Express chipset, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and HDMI outs. Next is the Dynabook AX (€922) now available in a pink, white, or black casing, a Celeron 550 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, HDMI outs, and a Super Multi optical drive. The model has now been bumped to a Core 2 Duo T8100, plus 2GB of RAM, 200GB hard drive, and HDMI / Super Multi drive outputs for €1100. The 13.3-inch CX line features the same CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and everything else the other models have for €1230. [Akihabara]

Toshiba has announced that their 13.3-inch U400, 14.1-inch M300, 15.4-inch A300 (pictured) and 17-inch P300 have been redesigned with a fusion finish, feather-touch multimedia keys, white LED accents and built-in Dolby Sound Room technology along with sleep-and-charge USB ports allowing users to charge up their portable gadgetry with USB even if the laptop is powered on / off or in Sleep mode. Sounds like a good redesign. There’s no word on when these and how much these redesigned satellite laptops are, but I can imagine a bit on the pricey side. [BusinessWire]

Toshiba has just upgraded their 12.1-inch Dynabook SS RX1 in Japan with a new 128GB SSD. The RX1/TAE comes with a 128GB of solid state disk with internal, KDDI EV-DO data module, 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo U7600 processor, 2GB of memory, Intel 945GMS Express graphics, a 1,280 x 800 pixel panel resolution, and 6.2 hour or 12.5 hour batteries. Toshiba has done it again with 2 new models called the L300 and U400. The L300 comes with a 15.4-inch 1,280 x 800 resolution panel, a 1.3-megapixel camera, integrated wifi and several ports. The U400, has a 13.3-inch display, ATI Mobility Radeon graphics, built-in Harman Kardon speakers, integrated webcam / microphone, bluetooth and wifi. No word on when the L300 will be out or how much either is going for, but the U400 is said to drop April. [Engadget]
