Toshiba’s Qosmio G40 17-inch notebook PC supports HD-DVD recording drive. By connecting it to the company’s REGZA LCD TV via REGZA Link, users can enjoy watching full HD video of the HD-DVD on the TV screen and also use reserved recording function controlled by the laptop. FYI, the Qosmio G40 adopts Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo T7300 processor, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics board and 400GB of hard disk drive. No word yet on pricing.

Toshiba has released Portege R500, which is using 20grams lightweight motherboard with dual-sided component mounting. To reduce the size of the motherboard, the firm utilized its proprietary High Density Mounting Technology process. This 12.1-inch all-in-one notebook PC comes with a 7mm DVD Super Multi drive, and Intel Ultra Low Voltage CPU, which enables its battery to run up to 12.5 hours. The laptop retails for $2,700.

Toshiba has released two Qosmio notebook PC in Japan. The new Qosmio G40/97D laptop features a 17-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display, 2GHz, T7300 Core 2 Duo processor, 256MB of NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics, 2GB (up to 4GB supported) memory, 320GB of disk (2x 160GB), Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI out, a 2MP webcam, and an HD DVD-R drive. It also comes with five USB ports, Firewire, multiple memory card support, and a PCMCIA and ExpressCard/54 slot. In addition, the laptop pre-loaded with CyberLink SoftDMA allowing it to pull your HD recordings off your VARDIA series of recorders wrapped in a DRM-ladden, DTCP-IP hard candy shell. Priced at $3,470, the G40/97D also sports HDMI-CEC allowing the G40 to control your new HDMI connected REGZA series of TVs. Meanwhile, the new Qosmio F40 laptop does much the same only on a 15.4-inch screen and is priced for approx. $850.

The Toshiba Satellite M200/205 series is a portable laptop which adopts Santa Rosa platform. The notebook is based on 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 processor. Toshiba Korea has rolled out its new 14.1-inch notebook PC called the Satellite L40. The laptop is powered by 1.86Ghz Intel Celeron M440 processor with DDR2 667Mhz 512MB memory. Other features include S-ATA 80GB HDD, DVD Combo optical drive and 6-cell battery. You can buy it for approx. $840.
