The Samsung R55 HDD laptop comes equipped with a 1.66 GHz Intel Centrino Core Duo T2300E Processor, 1GB of RAM, a 100 GB Hard Drive and a DVD Dual Layer Drive which can read DVDs and CDs and write CDs, DVD+, DVD- and large Dual Layer DVD. Other features include 15.4 inch WXGA Widescreen TFT Screen with SuperClear Technology, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 256 MB dedicated graphics, Integrated 6 -in-1 card reader, wireless 802.11 a/b/g LAN and Bluetooth. Pricing is still in mystery.

Intel’s New Ultra Mobile Platform

Intel has recently announced their new ultra mobile platform today. Dubbed as the IUMPC2007, the gadget offers two different processing chips; the smaller 600MHz A100, and the larger 800MHz A110. It will utilize the 946GU Express Chipset with Intel GMA850 graphics that will allow a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 and up to 1GB of DDR2 Memory. No word on pricing yet.

The Gateway E155C Tablet PC

Mainstream PC manufacturer Gateway has released its latest tablet PC. Known as the E155C, it looks like a normal laptop with the inclusion of a swivel hinge and digitizer. The tablet offers a 12.1 inch 1280 x 800 widescreen display, an internal optical drive, a biometric fingerprint scanner, an Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 processor, Gigabit Ethernet, and WiFi connectivity. Its recommended retail price is at around $1,850.

The Intel Metro Notebook

Intel has introduced the “metro notebook” portable PC concept for the ladies at Intel Developer Forum in Beijing. The “metro notebook” is an ultra-light 2.2lbs laptop that features an always-on secondary display for fast info updates. It is designed to be carried over the shoulder. The concept also features an antenna, which is able to switch between the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and WiMAX links.
