Panasonic has decided to upgrade the Toughbook 19 rugged convertible tablet PC with a 1.2GHz Intel Core i5-540UM processor that supports Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology for up to 2GHz. This Windows 7-powered laptop goes beyond the MIL-STD-810G/ IP65 certification with the ability to withstand a six-foot drop. Other features include a 2GB DDR3 RAM (upgradable to 8GB), a 10.4-inch LED display with touchscreen support, a 160GB SATA shock-mounted and quick release hard drive, an optional 128GB SSD, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth. Its battery provides a long 9-hour of operation time. No word yet on pricing. [PCLaunches]
