Panasonic has decided to upgrade the Toughbook C1 with a faster processor. Known as the world’s lightest 12.1-inch convertible tablet PC, the upgraded version features an Intel Core i5-2520M vPro processor (2.50GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz) and up to 30% faster boot up time compared to its predecessor. The tablet PC also has a 320GB hard drive for the base model, up to 12-hour of battery life and a 2GB RAM. Connectivity options are Bluetooth v2.1, Wi-Fi and the optional Gobi 2000 3G mobile broadband technology from Qualcomm. The upgraded Toughbook C1 will be released next month for $2,599. [Akihabara]
