
Here is good news for those who have the Acer Aspire One netbook. Acer has upgraded this netbook with the larger 40GB hard disk drive so the total storage capacity will be 160GB. Other features include 1GB of RAM, an N270 Atom CPU, and a 8.9 inch WSVGA screen with LED backlight. The price for the upgrade version is around €430 in Japan. [Akihabara]

Acer will launch its eMachines-branded entry level notebook PC in Japan. Known as the Acer E520, the laptop will be released on October 31th, 2008. The laptop comes equipped with a 15.4-inch wide LCD screen (1,280 x 800 resolution) with a 2Ghz Intel Celeron 575 CPU, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard disk drive. Priced at 59,800 Yen Japan, the laptop is powered by Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS and adopts DVD Super-Multi drive and Intel GL40 Express chipset. Its battery offers 3 hours of juice. Acer has updated its Aspire One netbook series with some new variants. The new models come equipped with SSDs, Windows XP OS, and an integrated 3G wireless modem for mobile wireless connectivity. Acer has decided to release not one but four new notebook PCs to the market. Known as the Acer Aspire 8930, 6930, 5735 and 4730, these entertainment laptops are powered by Acer’s Gemstone platform. The Aspire 8930 comes jam packed with an 18.4-inch HD CineCrystal widescreen display with the Blu-ray drive, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M graphics, Dolby audio, and Intel Core 2 Duo Processor technology.

Acer today released its mini notebook computer, which is designed to make online activities fast, simple and cool. Known as the Acer Aspire One, the laptop measures at only 9.8-inches x 6.7-inches x 1.14-inches and weighs at around two pounds. The Aspire One adopts 8.9-inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels with integrated Acer CrystalEye webcam. Other features include an Intel Atom processor, Linpus Linux Lite or Windows XP Home, a 512MB or 1GB of RAM, and a NAND flash module of 8GB or an 80GB internal HDD. Its card reader is able to read Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, and xD-Picture Card.
