
Asus has announced another budget-friendly netbook for the Japanese market called the Asus Eee PC 1000HT. This mini laptop is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU and sports a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, WiFi, Ethernet, Windows XP Home OS and a 6-cell battery that can last up to 6.4 hours. The Asus Eee PC 1000HT is expected to be launched later this weekend in Japan for 37,800 Yen (about $421). [Liliputing]

The 15.6-inch Asus UL50 is powered by an Intel Core2Duo processor and has an impressive battery life for all-day computing. The laptop features a 1.3GHz Intel SU7300 ultra-low voltage processor with an Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, a glare-type LED backlight display (1366×768 pixels), a 4GB of DDR2 memory, a 320GB hard drive, and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium OS. Its battery provides up to 11-hours of operation time. Other features include a DVD burner, Altec Lansing stereo speakers with SRS Premium Sound technology, a 0.3MP web camera, HDMI and VGA outputs, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a Gigabit LAN port, three USB ports, and a 5-in-1 media card reader. Asus has finally posted an official product page on its Chinese portal that unveils the netbook’s specifications. Weighing at 2.4-pounds, the Eee PC 1001HA comes jam packed with a 10.1-inch LCD display, a 160GB hard drive, a 802.11n WiFi, and a 92% full sized keyboard. Targeted towards extreme gamers, this stylish notebook boasts the latest Intel Core i7 720QM 1.6GHz CPU, a 16-inch LED backlit display, a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M 1GB graphics card, up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, up to 1TB HDD, a 2MP webcam, a backlit keyboard, a DVD burner, WiFi, Bluetooth and Windows 7 OS. Active Media has updates its SSD series for Asus Eee PC S101, 900, 900A, and 901. The SaberTooth S3 SSDs provides read speeds up to 95MB/sec and write speeds up to 70MB/sec. Available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB sizes, the device fits in the Eee PC’s Mini PCIe card slot. Active Media is selling the 32GB and 64GB modules through Amazon for $89.95 and $159.95, respectively.
