The Asus Eee 1000 is now official at Computex, Taiwan. The company boasts that the Eee 1000 keyboard is 92% the size of an average laptop keyboard. Its battery life is up to 8 hours. Other features include an option of 8.9 inch or 10 inch LCD displays, Flash drive (SSD), Windows or Linux and 1.3MP webcam. [UberGizmo]

It seems that Asus Taiwan will be released the new Eee PC 901 UMPC. The company adds in a new row of buttons between the keyboard and battery and a power plug on the left side. Asustek today confirmed that they will release the Eee PC 900 in the US on May 12th, 2008. Priced at $549.99, this 8.9-inch UMPC will be available in two variants. The first is powered by Windows XP, 12GB of storage, 4GB of Flash memory and an 8GB SSD. Meanwhile, the second model features Linux, a larger 20GB of total storage, 4GB Flash and the 16GB SSD. Asus will be launching the G70 gaming laptop anytime and the specs have finally surfaced the net. The G70 features an Intel Core 2 Duo / Core 2 Extreme processor, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, twin 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GTs, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a WUXGA / WXGA+ panel, and an optional blu-ray writer, 2-megapixel camera, bluetooth 2.0+EDR, gigabit Ethernet and 8-cell battery. The ASUS G70 gaming laptop is based on a “Multi Dual-Engine” architecture with a duplex structure in its major system components, including dual graphics engine, dual hard drive bays and dual fan systems. The desktop replacement features dual NVIDIA 8700M GT graphics cards in SLI technology with 1024MB GDDR3 of dedicated memory, dual hard drive bays with up to 640GB data with dual cooling fans. This gaming monster also has a secondary LCD screen that shows critical system information. Other features include Blu-Ray Drive, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth 2.0, and a built-in 2.0MP camera.
