Asustek is ready to release Asus F7K 17-inch laptop which adopts an AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core processor with the DirectX 10 compatible ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 256MB dedicated video card and the 17 inch 1440×900 widescreen display. The laptop also features a 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive at 5,400rpm, and a DVD burner. Other features include a 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet, 56K modem, Bluetooth connections, a TV tuner and a 1.3MP webcam. The Asus F7K will be released with Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.
Asus R1E tablet PC has approved by the FCC so you should be able to find it on Asus’s site in a few days. This 13.3-inch convertible tablet is based on Santa Rosa platform, which sports Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 / T7300 / T7100 processor, up to 4GB RAM, max 160GB hard drive, 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless, Bluetooth, dual layer DVD burner, GMA X3100 graphics and Windows Vista operating system.
Asustek will begin shipping the Asus Eee PC budget laptop simultaneously to clients in the US, Europe, China, and Taiwan in mid-September. The Eee PCs will be available at $199, $239, $349 and $369 depending on specifications. The first round of EEE PC shipments targets 20,000 units. Jonney Shih, Asus’s chairman, predicted earlier that shipments of the Eee PCs will top 500,000 in 2007 and will increase to 3-5 million in 2008. FYI, the cheapest $199 model will not be available in the United States.
Asus has officially announced their new 14.1-inch F8 laptop series with the revolutionary Infusion technology. The laptop is designed for business users and looks good from the outside. The Infusion technology is “a cutting edge manufacturing process used to produce the unique designs laptop surfaces. Being inlaid within the chassis itself, the motifs are an integral part of the entire laptop and will not fade with time. The Infusion surface also provides a new level of resilience, resisting scratches while looking sleek.”
The Asus F8 features Santa Rosa platform, Core 2 Duo T7700/T7500/T7300/T7100 processor, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 with VRAM 512MB or GeForce8600M GS with VRAM 256MB, 1.3MP swivel webcam, a/b/g/n wireless, fingerprint reader, Bluetooth, and Windows Vista operating system. No word on pricing and availability yet.
Asus adds a new laptop called the F8S to its lineup. This Santa Rosa-based laptop comes with 14.1-inch widescreen display, an Intel PM965 chipset with a Core 2 Duo T7300 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and either an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600, or NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics chipset. The F8S will additionally sport 802.11a/g/n, a TV tuner, built-in webcam, fingerprint reader. The price tag is at around $2700. Stay tuned for more updates.
