BenQ Joybook R46 in China, Thailand and Malaysia

Here is the new addition to the famous BenQ Joybook laptops. The Joybook R46 sports a 14.1-inch “UltraVivid” WXGA display, a Core 2 Duo T3400 processor, integrated x4500 graphics, up to 4GB RAM, up to 320GB storage, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. You can also makes a video conference with its 2MP webcam and microphone with smart noise suppression. The new Joybook R46 is now available in China, Thailand and Malaysia. BenQ Joybook Lite U101 Netbook

BenQ has updated its netbook lineup with the new Joybook Lite U101. It features 10.1″ 1,024 x 600 display (an 8.9-inch version will also be available), 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, a hard drive of unspecified size, a 3-cell battery, and optional 3G. U101 will run on optional Windows XP or Linux operating system. The 8.9-inch and 10.1-inch versions will hit retail shop in October and November for an undisclosed price. [Engadget]

BenQ MID Aries2

The MID Aries2 won the bronze award for “Interactive Product Experiences” at recent IDEA Award 2008. It’s rumored to be powered by an Intel Silverthorne 800MHz CPU, with 512MB of RAM and a 4GB SSD. Connectivity includes HSDPA, WiFi b/g and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR. The initial design was made with convenience for Internet users in mind. Its ultra-light weight makes it highly mobile. You can open windows and access them by simply shaking the device. Use finger or stylus to type, zoom and click. Flip the device vertically or horizontally and you get to see some mode changes. BenQ has suggested the portable touchscreen device would launch in Europe this quarter. It will be one of the most anticipated portables of the year. [Slashgear]

BenQ Atom-Based Mid

Here’s a look at BenQ’s upcoming UMPC called the mid. It has an Intel Atom processor (the base 800MHz model), 512MB of RAM, a 4GB SSD hard drive, HSPDA support along with wifi and bluetooth. The UMPC will also feature a “G-Senser” for “direct touch and free movement to surf on internet,” voice activation, and optional GPS. No word on the price or availability of the mid at this time. BenQ will be dropping another Penryn-based laptop called the Joybook A53. It comes with a Core 2 Duo T7250 processor with 512MB of RAM, 80 to 200GB 5400RPM hard drive, dual-layer DVD writer, 15.4-inch WXGA (1,280 x 800) resolution display, 3 USB 2.0 ports, VGA output, audio in / out and 6-cell battery with 2.3-hours of usage along with integrated ethernet / wifi, a 4-in-1 multicard reader and a 0.3-megapixel webcam for video chats. There’s no word on the price for this bad boy, but it will be coming to Australia, Thailand, Poland, Russia, and China very soon. [Electronista]
