The company is now releasing the first notebooks that come with massive 320GB hard drives, with the Area 51 m1550 for the 15.4 inch segment and the Aurora m9700 and Area 51 m9750 for the 17 inch segment. The 17 inch laptops feature dual bays which enables you to install another 320GB hard drive, bringing the total to a huge 640GB. Pricing for the Aurora m9700 begin from $1,599 upwards.

Sony today introduced another update to its BX Series, which sports Santa Rosa platform.The BX51 boasts a 15.4-inch 1280 x 800 “X-black” display, a 2GHz T7250 Core 2 Duo, 2GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, and the usual range of Santa Rosa-related features.
You will also be able to get your choice of Windows XP Professional, which comes standard on the VGN-BX51XP model, or Windows Vista Business, which comes pre-installed on the VGN-BX51VN model. Additionally, the Sony VGN-BX51VN also adds built-in Bluetooth, a 1.3MP “Motion Eye” webcam, and a 160GB hard drive. These laptops will be available in Europe by the end of the month for around $1,600 to $1,880 depending on the configuration.

LG has recently unveiled its XNOTE E200 notebook in Korea which comes equipped with a 12 inch LCD screen, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and hybrid hard disk drive that supports improved program running and booting speed. The laptop also adopts 1GB memory, 120GB hard disk (hybrid 256MB), ATI Radeon X1250 graphic card, 1.3MP Smart Cam, three USB ports and HDMI port. The 12 inch XNOTE E200 Series laptop from LG is priced between $1,490 and $1600. No word on the availability so far.

Sony has unveiled the Vaio C series which is designed to look like a shoulder bag and will be available in four glossy colors – pure white, red, indigo blue and luxury pink. This 13.3 inch laptop is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor at 2 Ghz, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard disk drive, DVD super drive, 1.3MP camera, and Bluetooth. Its battery offers up to 3.5 hours on a single charge. Measuring 335.1mm × 249mm × 38.3mm and weighing 2.5Kgs, the Vaio C series will go on sale from September 8th in Japan for $903.

Acturion Datasys unveiled their new rugged ultra mobile PC for use in harsh environmental conditions. In case you didn’t know, Acturion Datasys is a German industrial and military mobile computing device vendor. According to the firm, the 8.4-inch Victum tablet 8 is resistant against drop, shock, vibration, high/ low temperature, rain, dust and sand. The gadget comes with light alloy metal housing and is powered by 1.2GHz Pentium M low voltage processor, up to 1.25GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, 800×600 resolution, a/b/g wireless, Bluetooth, built-in speakers, microphone, fingerprint reader, seven hours of battery life, and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005. There is no word on pricing or availability yet.
