Hewlett-Packard will release the highly anticipated HP 2133 Mini-Note PC. Priced at around $500, this UMPC features VIA C7-M ULV processor (1GHz to 1.6GHz), Chrome 9 integrated graphics, and supports up to 2GB of DDR2 667MHz main memory. This 8.9 inch ultra portable laptop also provides up to 160GB of hard drive storage, an optional 64GB solid-state drive or 4GB Flash drive, an optional web camera, built-in stereo speakers and microphones, the Broadcom 802.11a/b/g or b/g wireless module, optional Bluetooth 2.0, a Gigabit Ethernet connection, two USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, Secure Digital (SD) slot, and a VGA output. Its battery provides up to 2 hours and 15 minutes of battery life with the standard 3-cell battery, and 4 hours and 11 minutes with the 6-cell extended life battery. HP will release a new Asus Eee-PC competitor in April 7th, 2008. Known as the HP 2133, this Ultra Mobile PC comes equipped with 1.2GHz/1.6GHz VIA C7-M processor, VIA Chrome 9 graphics chipset, 8.9inch display with 1,280 x 768 resolution, 120GB/160GB hard drive, 1GB/2GB DDR2 RAM, Windows Vista Home Basic/Business/SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. HP will be dropping a new laptop called the DV3000 in Asia. It has a 2.5GHz T9300 Penryn Core 2 Duo, GeForce Go 8400M graphics with HDMI out, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB disk, VGA webcam, a dual-layer burner, and USB / eSATA port. Get yours for $1,399 in May. [CNET]
The HP business lineup looks as though it will be getting the 2.1GHz T8100 on both the 6720s and 6820s and the 2.4GHz T8300 will be available on the 6510b and 6710b. [CNET]

HP is going to be showcasing the TX2000 tablet pc at the CES as well. It comes wirh the outfit’s QuickPlay software, a webcam ,an integrated microphone, Pavilion HDX, a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS graphics set, an optional Core 2 Extreme processor, Blu-ray / HD DVD support and a 20.1-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) XHD Ultra Brightview display along with four Altec Lansing speakers and a built-in “subwoofer,” an eSATA port, hybrid analog / digital TV tuner, room for two HDDs and a media remote. HP wants about $1299 for this tablet. Not a bad buy.

HP has released the new Pavillion called the TX-1400 convertible tablet. For $1,200, you get 12.1-inch touch screen as before, along with a 2.2GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-64 processor, Geforce Go 6150 graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, a DVD burner, and built-in 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth.
