Daewoo Releases New Atom Powered Tablet PC

Daewoo enters the mini-Tablet PC market by releasing its Daewoo C920. Measuring 241.4mm x 209.3mm x 27.7mm and weighing at only 1.21kg, the tablet is powered by an Intel Atom N270 CPU with an Intel 945 Express, a 1GB of RAM, a 60GB of HDD (1.8-inch @ 4200rpm), and a 8.9-inch touchscreen display with a 1024×600 resolution. Aware Electronics from Taiwan shows off a netbook at the 2009 Electronics and Components China Sourcing Fair organized by Global Sources. Known as the A-View, this netbook has a 7 inch display and a removable keyboard, which means you can use the netbook as a laptop or as a tablet. Other features include 8GB of flash memory, 512MB of RAM, and can run Microsoft Windows XP or Linux OS, which means it has an x86 processor. The A-View is priced at around $150. [GadgetMix]

IHere is a new rugged Tablet PC from Motion. Dubbed as the Brand J3400, this tablet PC features dual battery compartments and an outdoor-visible LCD. Other features include an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 1.8-inch shock-mounted HDD (a 64GB SSD is a worthwhile option), 2MP camera, GPS, a biometric sensor, multicard reader, Bluetooth 2.1, Qualcomm’s dual-mode Gobi WWAN chip, WiFi and a chassis that’s IP-52 rated and meets MIL-STD-810F specifications. Yuma tablet PC from Trimble is designed for operating in generally extreme conditions and meets the military’s MIL-STD-810F standards for impact, vibration and humidity resistance. It’s capable to operate in extreme cold temperature ranging from -30 C to 60 C as well as water-resistant down to depths of one meter. Here are the specs: a seven-inch WVGA touchscreen, a 1.6GHz Atom processor, two geo-tag enabled digital cameras, a 32GB solid state drive, SDIO and ExpressCard slots, a built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity. The E4000 comes equipped with either Microsoft XP Pro, XP Embedded, or Linux OS. The rugged tablet features a 1.4GHz Pentium M with 1GB of memory and a 16GB SSD. Fujitsu Upgrades Four LifeBook Tablet PCs

Fujitsu has decided to upgrade its LifeBook T5010, T1010, P1630 and T2020 convertible Tablet PCs with AT&T’s BroadbandConnect High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) network support. However, this upgrade adds more $150 to the basic price of these selected Tablet PCs. Fujitsu also confirmed that the LifeBook T5010 Tablet PC and the LifeBook E8420 notebook will receive EVDO connectivity support in the second quarter of 2009. [Fujitsu]
