Dell offers a new USB TV tuner designed for the Inspiron Mini series netbook. The $50 Dell USB Digital TV Tuner is so small and designed to match the aesthetics of Dell’s black and silver Inspiron Mini netbooks. The tuner is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, and Dell’s custom version of Ubuntu 8.04 Linux. The company also offer region-specific versions for the US, Europe, China, and Japan to work with the various digital TV broadcast standards around the world. [EeePCnet]
I’d have to say that Toshiba has really done it. Not only is the G40 97E a laptop, but it’s also a HD-DVD recorder, as well as digital tv tuner! It features 17 inch widescreen (1920×1200), Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.2GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 400 GB HDD, 2 TV tuners, and HD-DVD player and burner. Unfortunately it wont be out in time for the holidays. But it will drop in stores late December for $3,544.20
Malibal has rolled out the Veda line of laptops that come with a huge 20.1 inch LCD display. The laptop is powered by a dual core AMD Turion 64 X2 processor, an integrated 160GB hard drive, and a TV tuner. Priced at $2,799 upwards, the Malibal Veda laptop weights at 15.2 pounds.
