
Acer today released its mini notebook computer, which is designed to make online activities fast, simple and cool. Known as the Acer Aspire One, the laptop measures at only 9.8-inches x 6.7-inches x 1.14-inches and weighs at around two pounds. The Aspire One adopts 8.9-inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels with integrated Acer CrystalEye webcam. Other features include an Intel Atom processor, Linpus Linux Lite or Windows XP Home, a 512MB or 1GB of RAM, and a NAND flash module of 8GB or an 80GB internal HDD. Its card reader is able to read Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, and xD-Picture Card. The Asus Eee 1000 is now official at Computex, Taiwan. The company boasts that the Eee 1000 keyboard is 92% the size of an average laptop keyboard. Its battery life is up to 8 hours. Other features include an option of 8.9 inch or 10 inch LCD displays, Flash drive (SSD), Windows or Linux and 1.3MP webcam. [UberGizmo]

AMD has finally unveiled its new ultraportable notebook. The new AMD mini notebook features a 8.9 inch LCD display, 1GB RAM, AMD processor, ATI RS960 graphics processor and Linux operating system. The AMD mini notebook is priced at between 700,000 Won and 800,000 Won. [AVING] More

MSI has recently unveiled its new Atom-based mini laptop, the Wind Series, during 2008 Computex in Taiwan. The 10 inch mini laptop weight at just 1kg and supports 80GB hard disk drive and Microsoft Windows operating system. This energy efficient gadget provides up to seven hours of battery life. Available in black, white and pink, the MSI Wind 10-inch Mini Laptop is priced at 636,000 Korean Won. [AVING]

Dell has introduced its new UMPC. Known as the mini Inspiron, the gadget features a trio of USB 2.0 ports, a memory card reader, VGA out, and an Ethernet port. There is no further details on this UMPC. Stay tuned for more updates. [Gizmodo] More
