Toshiba Satellite L500 And L550 Laptops Launched

Toshiba has added two new widescreen laptops to its range with the introduction of Satellite L500 and Satellite L550. Both machines are equipped with a choice of either an Intel Celeron / Pentium / Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon / Turion processor, a 500GB hard drive, a DVD burner, a VGA web camera supporting Toshiba’s Face Recognition software, an HDMI port, a 4-in-1 Bridge Media slot, two USB 2.0 ports, WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet and an additional eSATA/USB combo port. The main difference is that the L500 only comes with a 15.6-inch HD TruBrite display with 1366 x 768 resolution, meanwhile, the L550 offers a bigger 17.3-inch HD TruBrite display with power saving LED backlight technology, and a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. Both systems will be available in the third quarter of 2009 throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa. [PCLaunches]
